The McGavock Suite is the Grande Dame of The Mansion. Originally the master bedroom suite of the estate, The McGavock Suite’s extravagant four-poster king bed will envelop you in luxury while you admire the hand-carved marble fireplace mantel. Indulge yourself in the Jacuzzi tub built for two in the marble bathroom, or in the dual-head shower with a travertine mosaic wall. Spending time in this suite will ensure your quick return to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The McGavock Suite is named for Carrie Elizabeth McGavock, a native Mississippian, who tended to Civil War soldiers at her home after the historic Battle of Franklin, Tennessee in 1864. Mrs. McGavock and her husband are credited with one of the first national cemeteries in the United States, when she designated 2 acres adjacent to her home to bury nearly 1500 soldiers and personally maintained the cemetery.

This suite’s namesake is the famed Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning playwright Tennessee Williams, born in Mississippi in 1916.

Furnished with a four-poster queen bed and antique armoire, this suite also boasts a gorgeous marble bathroom and a large jacuzzi tub for relaxing. The Faulkner Suite is named for Nobel Prize-winning author William Faulkner. Born in Mississippi in 1897, Faulkner published such iconic works as The Sound and the Fury, As I Lay Dying, and Absalom, Absalom.

The luxurious linens and centuries-old king-sized bed cocoons guests in the L’Adnier Suite. On the first floor of The Mansion, the L’Adnier Suite allows accommodation for guests that may have mobility challenges, and offers a sumptuous dual-head, no-threshold shower for easy access. This suite is named for Nicholas Christian L'Adnier who lived on nearby Cat Island beginning in 1745. Nicholas married Marianne Paquet, and is credited for naming the two Mississippi channels, Pass Christian and Pass Marianne.

The LeMoyne suite is named after Pierre LeMoyne d’Iberville, the French Canadian who established himself as a soldier and naval commander and was commissioned by French monarchy to locate the mouth of the Mississippi River through the Gulf, coming through Mobile Bay, Cat Island, and Ship Island in 1699. |

| Designed for privacy and elegant comfort, our spacious two-bedroom Carriage House is decorated in beautiful reds, golds and other jewel tones. Featuring a romantic and spacious king bed in one bedroom and queen bed in the second bedroom, both the master bedroom and the main living space boast flat screen televisions and every room has access to a full kitchen with all the amenities. The main living room is filled with beautiful antiques and the comforts of home. Finishing the Carriage House is a black marble bath with a generous jacuzzi tub, large his and hers sinks, and a separate shower for two including a dual shower heads. The Carriage House rests peacefully across the southern lawn from the main house and is close enough to enjoy all the amenities within the main house, while offering a bit more privacy for guests who prefer a quieter option. |
